Can we be sure that 97 months is long enough for a car loan? Maybe some cars will actually last that long. To be sure that the loan will outlast the car, we need longer car loans. Thanks for the mention.
What’s the big deal?
If Fortune 500 companies can extend their payments to suppliers out by 50-60% utilizing low-interest loans thus freeing up loads of cash they can use to “stimulate” the economy (or massage “earnings”), why not give the average bloke almost a decade to pay for a new car in hopes they too will spend their new found “wealth” via lower monthly payments?
Kinda weird that the economy is booming but no one has the money to pay for anything.
Thanks very much for the mention FT.
Enjoy your weekend!

My local credit union can do 10Year car loans! At what point do people realize that if I have to take 10 years to pay it back then I probably can’t afford it….
