Win a Copy of “An American Hedge Fund”

Timothy Sykes was generous enough to offer MDJ readers FIVE autographed copies of "An American Hedge Fund".  I did a book review on "An American Hedge Fund" last Monday, it's a true story of how a young trader started with around $12,000 and transformed it to around $2 million in a few short years.  The book is extremely entertaining and it's even better if it's free.

All contestants will be put into a hat and drawn at random.  Since there are 5 books available, the odds are pretty good.  To be fair to all contestants, you can only win 1 copy.

How Do You Enter?

  • Simply leave a comment in this post. (1 entry).
  • Help promote this contest on your blog with a link back to this post. (1 entry) (short one liner will do).
  • Leave a comment AND blog about it (2 entries).

The Rules:

  • Please only 1 comment entry / person.
  • Make sure that you enter a valid email address in the "email" field.
  • Contest will close approximately 1 week from today (5pm EST Sunday Oct 14, 2007).

The Prize?

  • 1 autographed copy of "An American Hedge Fund" by Timothy Sykes.

Good luck!

Update:  Contest is now closed.

Hey FT, I’ve been wanting to congratulate you on the site for a while now, and now that I may get something for free, I finally have the impetus to do it. :)

But seriously, really enjoying the site. I found it a few weeks ago, and read through all the archives and most of the comments very quickly. Lots of good stuff on this site, thanks very much.

So yeah, now that I’ve said nice stuff about you, I’ll be automatically disqualified for being an ass-kissing sycophant, yes? :)

Firstly, I think it’s great that Timothy Sykes is using the blogosphere as a medium to market his book and build a bit of a following.

Second, a friend of mine has given the book rave reviews so I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.

Lastly, enjoy reading the blog…keep up the good work.

  5. Thanks for the kind words guys! Good luck in the contest.

Hey Folks.. anyone know if there is a place in Canada that actually has this book in and ready to ship? I don’t have a blog in order to enter the contest, but would definately like to purchase this book. It’s only about $20 I believe.

I’ve checked a bunch of online and local stores, nothing around.

If anyone knows of a spot, please email me, that’d be great!!

    Cheers!

    Len

  68. Ben–

thanx or spamming every website my book has been reviewed on. Sorry man, but the website below totally busts you for using several different aliases to post fake reviews of my book

    http://www.blogsmith.com/profile/1390356/

    good effort though, keep trying!

  69. 74. Len Currie

I for one enjoyed the book and couldn’t put it down once I started reading it.

I enjoyed the writing style, and I enjoyed the journey, and yes.. I definitely think it’s a read worth $20.

Don’t worry Tim, most people I hope don’t believe everything they read on the Internet.

    Cheers,

    Len
