Million Dollar Journey

Building Wealth through Saving and Investing

More Media Attention!

When it rains it pours!  Since doing an interview with The National Post, I've been contacted by other media sources for interviews and this is the latest scoop.

The main local newspaper, The Telegram, has featured me and this site on the front page of yesterdays newspaper in the article "Becoming a Million Dollar Man".

Here are some snippets:

…A St. John’s man is on a Million Dollar Journey and is taking thousands of people along for the ride.

…Through investments and frugal spending, the 28-year-old is working towards being worth a million bucks by his 35th birthday.

…He suggests that people aim to save at least 10 per cent of their gross income. He and his wife try to put away 20 to 30 per cent of theirs. A key to doing that, he says, is following a credo he learned at 15 from David Chilton’s classic personal finance book “The Wealthy Barber” — “pay yourself first.” He considers that among the soundest advice he has ever heard.

I'd like to thank the journalist Mr. Bartlett for doing the interview and keeping my anonymity intact.  Most of all, thank you, the readers, for visiting and supporting Million Dollar Journey

  1. Way to go FT!
Unfortunately, paparazzi won’t take long to hunt you down and take pictures of the Million Dollar Journey Man on the beach! It is a matter of time until your identity is revealed ;-)

Until then, keep up the good work!

  2. Congrats FrugalTrader!

It’s great to see that you’ve maintained your anonymity even with your blog in the media spotlight.

I think it’s the anonymity associated with these types of blogs that keeps them honest as there’s nothing to hide.

    Keep up the great work!

  3. Congrats! That’s a really nice article.

With all this media attention, we’re going to have to start calling you “Paris”… :)

Congrats! A really good article and on the front page, to boot! If Financial Blogger’s comment meets reality, you may need to spend some time at the gym, so the beach photos are flattering!

Congratulations, FT. Although I’m sure performing such a worthwhile service for so many people is all the thanks you need, it still must be heartwarming to see it recognized so publicly.

I’m also sure that there is a MasterCard moment here… you know, ends in “…Priceless”.

  8. FT, nice man!! Congrats on the coverage, the front page to top it off, look forward to seeing more of these!

Hello there! Frugal trader? haha..it’ll be great if i could know your name. It’s more respect for you I feel. Anyway, I’ve read quite a chunk of your blog and i must say i am very impressed by your goals. And of course, it’s not impossible. Achieving it by 35 is wholly possible. As i’ve said, i’m really impressed. I’m 18 this year and i’ve still a long way to go. But you? You are closer to it than me. So good work man! Hoping to hear from you soon. Cheers Frugal trader! Yours in fellowship, Alexchious
