I’ve Been Tagged! - 5 Things You Didn’t Know About Me

Nick Gifford over at "Bring the Cash Flow" has tagged me! What is this tagging you ask? It's basically a game going around the personal finance blog world that when tagged, the blogger has to tell 5 things about themselves unknown to others. Once the list is complete, I get to tag a few bloggers and get some dirt of them. ;)

Anyways, here it goes, 5 things about me that you probably didn't know about me:

  1. I am a Mechanical Engineer. Speaking of this, there seems to be a lot of engineers in the personal finance blogging world.
  2. I am a born and bred Newfie.
  3. I am a regular gym goer and have been weight training since I was 20.
  4. I don't really enjoy working 9-5 for someone else. Ideally, I would like to own my own business, or become a full time stock trader.
  5. I am just about to complete have completed the Canadian Securities Course.

I guess I'll tag some blogs that I read often: JohnChow.com, TheKirkReport.com, StockMarketBlog.com, and Canadian Dream: Free at 45.

  1. I saw this a couple of days ago and was just waiting for it to finally track me down.

    Thanks, I think.

  2. Sorry Mr. Dream, it was only a matter of time. :)

  3. FT,

Your right I saw it the other day on CC’s site and I knew it was only a matter of time. At least I have a post for Monday now.

I don’t know why, but there seems to be a good population of engineers switching to finance for some reason. I am in the financial services industry and I have so many colleagues that were previously engineers or have a degree in it.

  5. Steven: In the blog world, I think there are a lot of engineers doing personal finance blogs b/c it combines a couple of skills. Numbers and technology. In my opinion, it’s a natural fit. What do you do in the financial services industry?

  6. 6. Jon Lee

That’s a very interesting idea! I think I might start a similar “tag” amongst web development blogs :)

  7. 8. Thomas

I took engineering at university too!

  8. 9. Ali

I am a fellow engineer in Calgary also with the same passion as you. I am in the middle of my CFA program. Ever consider it?
