Carnivals and Another Camera Giveaway

  • J.D from Get Rich Slowly has done another fine job hosting the Carnival of Personal Finance.  The MDJ article on New Car Buying Tips called "Confessions of a Car Salesman" was submitted and chosen as an editors pick.
  • Preet Banjeree, the grand prize winner of the MDJ 1st birthday giveaway has decided to pay it forward by giving away the camera in his own contest.  So those of you who really wanted the camera the first time, here is your chance for another crack at it!  Preet has been generous to offer new e-mail subscribers of MDJ an extra contest entry. You can get your extra entry here by submitting and verifying your email.  Contest ends Monday Dec 24, 2007 (11:59EST) and winners will be announced Christmas morning.  The odds look really good right now, so head over there now and get a couple more entries in the free giveaway.
  • For those of you looking for last minute gifts, perhaps email gift certificates from book stores can be an option.  I gave these a try as prizes during my last giveaway, and they are really simple to setup.  I sent GC's from both Amazon and Chapters.  I liked Chapters the best because you can schedule when the e-mail gift will be sent (ie. Christmas Day).

  1. Thanks for the mention FT, and as of right now, the next entrant has a 1 in 50 chance of winning as there are 49 entries to date!
