The USA does not have nearly as much social mobility as we do in Canada. They really celebrate their sports heroes and their successful businesspeople because of this. In Canada, it's easier for people who started with nothing to get an education and get ahead into higher socio-economic classes if that is what we want (within reason).

In my opinion, this is why we seem to get so much of this reverse snobbery from American sources. For me, reverse snobbery is when, people who were essentially born with a silver spoon in their mouth tell people that they "made it" from "rags to riches" when they really didn't. They make it seem that they started with nothing and now have it all.... When that's not usually the whole truth. Trump, Kiyosaki, Robbins, Tracy and others all make it seem that they were really down on their luck at one time and that it was their will power and mindset (which they are willing to sell to you in the form of books, tapes, and seminars) that got them past everything. Not to undermine their accomplishments, but I don't think any of them lived on KD and weiners for four years while working a low paying retail job in a city with double digit unemployment. These guys went from average to better.

And... in my opinion as an addict of these motivational speakers and purveyors of "millionaire mindsets"... Brian Tracy is the only one with any value or real substance to his seminars. Does anyone else have a favourite?

Hum... sounds like Kyosaki's story (being homelesss, bla bla bla and then being rich through their books or really through their method?)

Nonetheless, I do apply this "positive approach" in my daily life. I never though it would make a ton of books though! I simple started to think positively because I though it was less energy consuming! When you are concern about something, you are consuming yourself into negative feeling. Not good for health (creates stress) and not good for mental health as well!

[...] Check it out! While looking through the blogosphere we stumbled on an interesting post today. Here’s a quick excerpt Just after writing a book review on “The Secret”, Dr. Joe Vitale and his publisher sent me a pre-published version of their new book “The Key” for review. Perhaps this is the law of attraction at work? The Key is based around the concept of The Law of Attraction and what Dr. Joe Vitale feels is the single most important element in attracting your desires. Have you watched The Secret and wondered why you can’t manifest your desires by simply thinking about it? This book believes that it has [...]
