Book Giveaway: A Million Bucks by 30

Alan Corey has graciously agreed to giveaway a copy of his new book to a lucky reader!  If you haven't already, check out my book review of "A Million Bucks by 30".

…  He told me about his story/book where he set a big financial goal at the age of 22 to become a millionaire before the age of 30.  Not only did he reach his goal on average income (below average in NYC), he did it before the age of 29.

He didn't win the lottery, have a high salary job, or an inheritance.  When it comes down to it, Alan Corey's success evolved from his frugality, bargain hunting real estate investing style and his bigger than life determination.

Count me on this one, most of my family I think could get a great read out of how to build wealth through lack of spending all your money.

  3. 3. Minimum Wage

Oh, sure. I’d love to see him try that on a minimum wage income.

This looks like a very handy book. Please consider this my entry to the giveaway.

  9. 10. Cheryl

Personally, I’d love to get a copy of that book. It would be next on my reading list. :)

As a side note, I really love that I’ve finally found a Canadian personal finance blog. Reading about Roth IRA’s does no good to me - but Americans know little of RRSPs & RESPs, so this is helpful. :)

“….at the age of 22 to become a millionaire before the age of 30. Not only did he reach his goal on average income….”
“..When it comes down to it, Alan Corey’s success evolved from his frugality, bargain hunting real estate investing style and his bigger than life determination.”

I’d like to see the actions taken in the book broken down and see the dollar amount attributed to each. I’m sure the frugality parts are good advice, but their effect on becoming a millionaire in 8 years are negligible. As most likely was the bargain hunting portion of his real estate investing. The fact of the matter I would bet is basically he played the real estate bubble correctly….borrow as much as possible, put as little amount down on each property. Hard to not become a millionaire in the last decade following that advice.
