AGLOCO: Own the Internet - Get Paid to Surf the Web!

One of my goals is to increase our passive income to the point where it’s enough to pay all of our mandatory bills like our monthly expenses. That is the true definition of wealth isn’t it? To have enough income so that you have a CHOICE to work or not. I plan on getting to this goal by buying tax efficient income producing investments whether it’s real estate or dividend paying stocks.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always looked for ways to make pocket money. I’ve worked part time going through school, sold stuff on EBAY, and found other money making ventures on the web. One particular company I remember fondly is AllAdvantage. Back in the late 1990’s, AllAdvantage came out with a unique concept that would pay the web surfer as long as they had a banner ad on top of their screen while they were surfing. What made this program especially interesting is that they would pay me a portion of my REFERRAL surf time also. The more referrals I got, the more AllAdvantage would pay. Taking advantage of the power of referral income I put up posters around town and told all my friends who were web surfers. Before I knew it, I started receiving $100, $200, $400 USD cheques from AllAdvantage. I think I received around $1000USD before AllAdvantage shut down.

Guess what? I heard from StingyFinance.com that AGLOCO has taken over AllAdvantage and is opening it’s doors again! This time around, they have a stronger business plan where they are giving out shares AND cash. Their plan is to pay the web surfer for up to 5 hours of surf time / month (easy for most of us) and to pay you a portion of your referral surf time. The banner ad ViewBar isn’t available for download yet (available in 7-10wks) but this is the best time to tell your friends about it and start your network before the concept catches fire! If you have multiple users on your home computer, you can open multiple accounts, so that is a mini-referral network right there. They plan to have 10 million members by July 2007. Lofty goal but I think this concept will go viral and will become one of the better known names on the net.

What I like about AGLOCO is that they are 100% member owned. Which means that when the company goes public, all of the outstanding shares will be member owned. The management (a bunch of Standford graduates) will pay themselves with 10% of the annual income. So if the company doesn’t make money, the management doesn’t make money! To top it all off, there is absolutely NO RISK to join the program, no fees, nothing.

What is the income potential? They have a calculator on their site (in the members area) that shows how many shares you can obtain. According to their calculators, if you refer 10 people and they refer 5 people down to a maximum of 4 levels with everyone surfing for 5 hours for the month, you can make almost 9800 shares/month. This really shows how powerful and rewarding their referral system can potentially be. According to the site, they can pay monthly by cash or by stock. I read somewhere that they plan on paying their members by shares initially then changing over to cash when the income starts.

What about Spyware? According to StingyFinance.com, AGLOCO has a renowned anti-spyware advocate on their team, Ray Everett-Church. Ray confirms that there will be no spyware installed on your computer. Check out the email below:

I couldn’t disagree more with the characterization of the Viewbar as spyware. In my experience, spyware has four main characteristics: 1) It’s installed without your permission; 2) It surreptitiously tracks you; 3) it is difficult if not impossible to turn off or remove; and, 4) it sends your information to an unknown and untrustworthy entity where you have no control over what happens to it.

AGLOCO’s Viewbar (nor AllAdvantage’s Viewbar before it) does not have those characteristics. Indeed, AGLOCO’s Viewbar is the opposite of spyware: you must actively install it, you have to turn it on in order for it to track you and earn your hours, you can easily turn it off and uninstall at will, and finally you know who’s tracking you and our Privacy Policy gives you explicit information about what happens with your data and how you can delete it from our system if you desire.

I know a thing or two about spyware: I was an expert witness in a series of twelve lawsuits in which I testified against one of the major perpetrators of spyware on the Internet. They actually hired me in part because of my experiences at AllAdvantage with permission-based and privacy-protecting advertising technologies like the Viewbar.

If you’re interested (or can’t sleep!) you can read brief excerpts from my 80-page expert witness report (the whole report is, unfortunately, under seal by the federal court). I submitted the excerpts when I testified at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Workshop on Spyware in 2004. My written materials are here.

I hope that helps clarify things a bit more.

Ray Everett-Church

As you probably know from reading some of my posts, I am pretty anal when it comes to research and getting the facts. I have done quite a bit of research on AGLOCO and I must say that I’m excited. If you can build a substantial network, the income potential is HUGE as you are paid for your referral network down to 4 levels. Think about it, you can have hundreds or thousands of surfers in your network!

How do referrals sign up? Easy, after you sign up, you will get your own referral ID and link. Get your friends to sign up through your referral link and they will be added to your network. For example, my referral link is: http://www.agloco.com/r/BBBB4119

Sorry for the long winded post but more facts are better than less (in my mind). :) AGLOCO has created a win-win product for all web surfers and a legit way to make some extra cash for doing something that most of us do anyways… surf the web!

If this is the first time that you are hearing about AGLOCO and you would like to join, please use the link below:

AGLOCO SIGNUP

If you are asked for a referral ID, please use: BBBB4119

That’s all for now! Join up and start your network! I will keep you updated on my AGLOCO endeavors!

Update June 15, 2007: The AGLOCO ViewBar is NOW available to be downloaded! Once you sign up, you’ll find the download link within your account after you login.

Viewbar comes out in a few weeks! It should be much easier to get people to sign up under you once the viewbar is released.

  3. Thanks for the review/information. I am always on the lookout to earn a buck or two to go into the “surf” kitty. Signed up under your link. Thanks for doing the research for me!

  4. I remember AllAdvantage… I made about $1,000 from it as well before it shut down. How is AGLOCO doing for you?

  5. I have quite a few referrals from AGLOCO so far, and the hours are accumulating. But no official sign as to what they’re going to pay to their users. I’ve read that they plan to give our “shares” in the company, and pay a “dividend”.

Sounds nice, but what is the difference between this and other ponzi schemes. This idea is not sustainable over longer period of time and is subject to same issues as MLM (multi level marketing etc) are.

  7. 14. Interested

Have you actually earned anything yet?

  8. anyone earned any money doing agloco? I want to sign up but they don’t seem to have an extension for firefox.

  9. Hey cad$, I haven’t seen a payout yet thus the reason why I stopped using their toolbar. Looks like a lot of readers here were right in saying that they didn’t stand a chance. I personally expected that they would have had payouts by now, especially since they have advertisers.

  10. Update guys, AGLOCO has apparently ceased operations. It appears that he naysayers were right about AGLOCO, the business model just wasn’t sustainable.
